| Legislative Changes
As of September 1, 2009, House Bill 2447 abolished the Board of Tax Professional Examiners (BTPE) and its functions, and they were transferred to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
As part of bill implementation, licensing exams will be reviewed by subject matter experts and by testing methodology experts and revised. This will accommodate exam administration at testing centers throughout the state. Testing at these sites will be by way of computer platform.
After March 1, 2010, the only way to complete a Property Tax Professional required state examination will be at one of seventeen PSI testing centers located throughout the state.
